This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By donating to my project, you will be helping me create materials I need like books and worksheets in color for each individual student's needs. I will be able to scaffold thematic lesson plans that require books that are aligned to each student's level of reading. The books help me target specific vocabulary which will help students' confidence as they become independent readers. The laminating sheets and ring binders are to create reusable books. The use of the whiteboards is for a daily activity in my classroom. Binders and sheet protectors are for reference books I create so students can learn to look up information that was taught in class to refresh their memory, which helps students become independent learners. I have seen firsthand how excited they get when they are able to read independently, which promotes "reading readiness" along with practicing their literacy skills in English.
