This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a 3rd grade teacher in Ventura, California. I have 23 energetic and caring students who are thrilled to be back in the classroom for the 2021/2022 school year! My students enter the classroom each morning with a smile and eagerness to learn. We are a happy, thriving classroom family!

My Project

I love to teach reading! Reading is the key to academic success! I have many students who have experienced learning loss during the two year COVID-19 pandemic. My students were only first graders when classes moved to remote learning in March 2020.

Learning phonics is essential for children to become successful readers and writers.

The Rigby PM Collection is a set of high interest fiction and nonfiction decodable readers. These books build upon one another and use high frequency words and repetition to foster confidence in emergent readers. Help me fill these reading gaps so each student can read independently before going on to the 4th grade.
