Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!

Help me give my students a variety of diverse books to enhance our classroom library.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Gonzalez's classroom raised $359

My Students

My school is located in a low-income neighborhood with scholars from diverse backgrounds. Nearly all scholars qualify for free school meals.

Despite socioeconomic disadvantages, our melting pot of scholars possesses a positive outlook on learning.

Each child is unique and deserves quality resources and experiences that will shape their future. Being that we are a Title I school however, it’s often a challenge to find funding to purchase materials and resources. Basic classroom supplies and technology are in high demand in our school, and our scholars deserve to experience high-quality education and resources.

My Project

Reading is the foundation of college and career readiness. It's a fundamental skill that every child should enjoy. Classroom libraries are essential in nurturing this skill.

When scholars are exposed to diverse and rich texts, they are engaged in reading which then builds their reading stamina and fluency.

Scholars can expand their background knowledge and exposure to vocabulary. Reading also connects to writing, small group instruction, book clubs within the classroom, and classroom discussions.

We are in desperate need of diverse books to enhance our classroom library, and this project will fill our shelves! This project will allow my 5th graders to receive quality texts that range in both reading level and genre.
