My Project

My students are eager learners, happy to come to school each day. My goal for them, as an English teacher, is to teach them to be creative writers and to leave my classroom with a love of reading. Our library has many “oldies but goodies” book sets, but I want to expand on that and introduce my students to more recent books and authors. “…Echo pushes the boundaries of genre and form and shows us what is possible in how we tell stories.” (Book jacket) With this book, we will analyze how differences in the points of view of the characters and the audience or reader create effects such as suspense or humor. As we read, We’ll practice reading and annotating strategies, engage in lively small group book discussions and end with a final project.
