My students need a Samsung tablet in the classroom to use for math, reading, and writing games. I will also use it to administer district periodic assessments.

My Students
Today every student requires more stimulus and more engagement in order to learn. Technology is one such way to help reach our youth. By putting a high-tech tablet in their hands and allowing them to access the curriculum through curriculum based games, the students learn and have fun all at once.
The students in my third grade class are creative thinkers, who come from a wide range of backgrounds.
They are smart and savvy and thoroughly enjoy learning each day. They come to school prepared each day with bright ideas, brilliant questions, and ready to discuss new topics. When they learn something new, they are always looking for a new and catchy way to remember it, including rhymes, quick patterns, acronyms, or idioms. These students love to think creatively so giving them another magical tool, loaded with educational games and applications would be fabulous for them to have.
My Project
If you choose to support this project, the students will be able to access our JiJi Math program on the tablet. Additionally, there will be educational games and applications loaded onto the tablet that the students will be able to use to help them learn their skills in class. Critical third grade math concepts like multiplication can be practiced on the tablet by playing math games, using math flash cards, and using purchased applications. The sky is the limit since the Samsung Galaxy Tablet is WiFi enabled and can be linked to our school's wifi network.
Additionally, the students can use it to do web based research, look up words to enhance their writing, or use Google Earth to get a topical view of California. Truly the benefits of this are only as limited as the educational resources on the Internet and the creative thinking of the children.
This project will have a tremendous impact on our classroom.
Every student will benefit from it, as they will have revolving access to the tablet. Having the tablet in our classroom will truly help to motivate the children and will get them excited about getting their turn to work on it.
