My Students

The students in my classes are very eager to learn, creative and hardworking. They are from various backgrounds and as such are interested in learning about those around them. I would love to help them to learn history in our class through the eyes of those who experienced it. For this to happen, I need to begin to build a library of resources that are culturally responsible as well as sensitive as well as learn how different events in the history affect all people in this country.

My Project

For my students to understand how events affected different groups of people they must-have materials that spark an interest in reading. It is important for my students to be able to build empathy. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to read about historical topics. In order to achieve my goal our class library has to have a large collection of books, so I would like to have books that will hold their interests and keep them reading in my classroom about all of the topics that affected everyone then and still do today.
