My Students

At our school we have some of the most eager and excited learners! Our students are book-loving, avid readers. We have students from all different types of backgrounds. I believe it is what makes our students so special!

There is a buzz about books and an excitement for reading in our school.

I would love to be given the opportunity to read such fun books with our students.

My Project

The use of the various books written by author Kevin Hankes will help our First Grade team when teaching students about how characters' personalities change. We are working to teach our students that in a story, a character may act different depending on the setting, and who they are around! Kevin Hankes does a wonderful job at displaying this in his books, and we would love such a wonderful example for our students.

Reading is such a beautiful skill to teach, and having the proper books would make it even better!

We would share these books as a First Grade team to teach this important skill in reading. Our students are eager learners, and I know that books such as "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" and "Crysanthemum" would get them excited to learn about characters' personalities.

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that we work so hard to build up over time. With these new books, our students will be motivated to read more, and continue to grow stronger as readers. We are so excited to teach our sweet learners!
