Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with an amazing group of 24 future leaders, scientists, and educators! They greet every day with a smile, are full of curiosity, and have a true love of learning.
Most students come from low-income households, but that doesn't stop them from working hard for a better future.
I am honored to be their teacher, and to have the opportunity to help guide them through the challenges we face, in order to succeed.
I hope to provide my students with exciting and engaging learning opportunities to nurture their inquisitive spirits.
My Project
We currently do not have a printer in our classroom. To print anything, from assignments, to pictures, or letters to parents, we need to take a trip to the computer lab...and cross our fingers that the stars align. That there isn't too long of a wait to use the printer, that it has toner, and paper. That it's working at all.
This printer will give us the freedom to print a myriad of student and teacher materials in the comfort of our own classroom!
Not only that, but during distance learning, the printer will serve as a vital tool for printing materials to be distributed to students who may be experiencing connectivity issues. Best of all, it will be used to print hard copies of my students wonderful work, which can be posted in our "virtual classroom" (my living room wall/Zoom meeting background) or, better still, mailed to them to proudly display in their homes.
Imagine the joy on their little faces as they receive a special envelope in the mail, addressed directly them, and open it to find their beautiful work inside, ready to proudly share with their family.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
