This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Welcome to Period 6/7 Junior English, where each and every student brings something different to our double period English class. I teach a diverse group of eleventh graders in a Title I CTE school, many of which come from low income backgrounds.
These students have gone through more than anyone could imagine, yet come to school each day ready to learn and prepare for their life beyond high school.
My students engage in CTE learning which is linked to real world learning, as they engage in obtaining skills that can be put to use in a career after high school or expanded on during their college career. As you can see, period 6/7 is ready to take on the world! We could, however, use a bit of help before doing so!
My Project
How do you learn what's going on in the world today? Social media? A news app? Whatever way it may be, there is one thing in common: a device. In a 21st century classroom, the world can be at our student's fingertips.
In a twenty first century world, what kind of student would you want to be?
Think of all that one can accomplish with the addition of a device to their learning! From increasing engagement to encouraging individual learning, using a device in the classroom can improve student learning as a whole.
If given the HP Chromebooks, my students can engage in 21st century learning. This will ultimately enhance their literacy skills since they will be able to collaborate via Google Classroom and help each other to become better writers by giving each other feedback and learning from one another in a virtual classroom. This will also help my students to become college and career ready, for whether they go to college and are required to submit assignments via BlackBoard or are asked to send a professional email to a client, a computer is the device they will be completing this task on!
