My Project
I am excited about providing my students with science materials to perform more hands on activities and experiments in our first grade classroom. Younger students learn better through discovery. This includes science experiments, watching things grow, and relating to real life experiences.
Science is sometimes pushed aside due to ELA and MATH lessons, BUT it is crucial that our younger children are able to learn more about the world around them in fun ways.
I plan on using the organizational system to store our science materials and centers so students have easy access to these items when needed. The dinosaur banner will be used to help transform our classroom into a dinosaur land while studying fossils and these ancient creatures. Astronaut ice cream will be fun to try at the end of our Astronomy unit. We will watch videos on how astronauts eat in space and then try some of their food. We will also grown crystals within our classroom during our geology unit.
