My Students
This year I have 38 fabulous fifth graders that I am teaching virtually. Building connections with my students is one of my favorite parts about teaching and I was worried I wouldn't be able to do that in the virtual setting. But so far, I have built some really amazing relationships with my new students and I could not be happier!
My class this year is filled with dancers, artists, gamers, mathematicians, scientists, writers, and readers.
We have a wide variety of student interests in our class year but I absolutely love that because we are all able to learn from one another and connect with those who have similar interests.
My Project
I am teaching virtually this year and have had to come up with new ways to keep my students learning and engaged from home. It has been a lot of fun to find creative ways to develop the minds of my young learners!
One thing my students could really benefit from is a document camera, because that would allow them to see me working out math problems, taking notes, etc.
Currently, I use the annotating tools on Zoom which are tricky to write with.
I am also asking for the Stream Deck mini. This will allow me to coordinate the different keys on the Stream Deck to different resources that will allow me to keep my students engaged during class time such as the applause sound effect, the wait time sound effect, interactive videos, and so much more!
