My students need a space where they can be comfortable to foster their love of reading. The blue sofa and the flexible chairs will provide multiple students to read their favorite big books together!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day is a new day in Kindergarten. I love how the Kindergartners approach their day with a positive attitude. We start the day off by saying a mantra.
Part of our mantra is: "Be the best.
Show the best. I am the best. We are the best." They are so excited for each other's growth in learning and in friendship. They support each other in their learning endeavors. If one person is needing help many of the students will step up and help them out.
My Project
My students are 5 and 6 years old and they are always on the move! They are so eager to learn. With better seating the library section of my classroom this will allow my student's to gain stamina in reading. The modern blue sofa is a great edition to the classroom library as it is sofa and large enough for multiple students to stay and read together. They will want to stay in the library longer! If the students do not want to sit on the sofa, then the Green flex seating floor chairs will offer the students another style of comfort while reading.
The students love to read and they love to read together!
Partner reading is what I want to see more of in my classroom. Partner reading has been highly researched as an effective reading technique to build fluency and learn decoding strategies for early readers.By having a comfortable setting in my library, this will foster a safe and warm environment for all of my amazing readers!
The library is used every day with my students, multiple times of the day and the new seats such as the sofa blue sofa and the green flex chairs will offer my students a more inviting classroom to where they will feel more focused to learn and read with others.
