Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to middle school students, that is 5th,6th,7th,and 8th grade. We are an extreme high need school which is located in a poor urban environment.
For the last four years we have been a failing school and in corrective action because of low test scores. Almost 70 percent of our student body receives ESL services. These children are faced with learning a second language and learning curriculum with limited access to materials and experienced teachers.
Our students have limited or no access to computers in our school. It would be an amazing benefit to have a LCD projector in our classroom to receive instantaneous resources to help learn English and to effectively learn how to use technology in our classroom.
Your help will make it possible for my students to learn how to use technology and English simultaneously. Your generous donation will allow them to view the numerous resources available to them on the world wide web. It will also allow a novice teacher to use newly skills for incorporating technology in the classroom to empower students with higher order thinking skills in multidisciplinary activities.
