My Students

These students are hands-on learners. Even though they live in a high poverty area they come to school with an attitude of learning. Each child has a story of challenges that they are striving to overcome. Most of these students are looking for ways to express themselves and need to be given positive and appropriate means to do so. They visually connect to their learning and are able to express themselves through various mediums. We've been developing skills through music, theater and dance; and now we want to bring in the visual arts.

My Project

3D printing is motivational. It’s a chance for a student to turn their abstract learning into reality. 3D printing is cross-curricular, so it can be used with all subjects, throughout the year. 3D printing is 21st century technology. Students can either learn now during cutting-edge or they can learn it in their field of study. Let’s give them a jump start. 3D printing generates creativity. Students can express their understanding of content and apply their learning in their terms. 3D printing is collaborative as ideas and teamwork are built and shared with the community to bring the world into our classroom.
