Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students would love to take a field trip to visit a real working farm. Please help give them this opportunity with your donation!
Transitional kindergarteners are the youngest kindergarteners, still only four when they enroll in school.
We are a Title One school, and many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. My class includes students that are both English and non-English speakers, as well as students with disabilities. All of my students are anxious and excited about learning and coming to school!
Our school is located in an urban area that isn't too far from farm country. Still, most of my students haven't had the chance to see what life is like on a farm. We have read stories and seen pictures, but there is nothing like a firsthand, up-close look at the place where most of our food comes from. With your help, these boys and girls will have an experience that they will always remember!
My Project
My Transitional Kindergarteners don't know where their food comes from, and don't know the difference between fresh and processed foods. A field trip to a working farm and farmer's market would give them the chance to learn first hand how fresh food is grown. They will also get to see an animal show and learn what types of animals are helpful to the farmer, and which animals are considered pests.
This trip will include the animal show, a wagon ride around the farm, and a visit to the pumpkin patch. We will also get to feed the animals.
I am requesting admission and transportation for this trip. A trip like this will only happen through the generosity of people like you. Please help us make this trip a reality!
Your donation will help 24 curious, excited children take a trip to Underwood Family Farms.
In doing so, you will have an impact on their education that will last a lifetime. Thank you in advance for your support!
