My Students
We are a dual-immersion school and our kids speak French or English and sometimes they speak both! This first year is a big challenge for everybody to live within a francophone community.
Our kids are creative, they love hands-on activities and this first year is the best opportunity for them to link their growing personalities to a bigger community!
At school, kids learn songs in French, they hear stories in both English and French, they create friendships and discover compassion for others.
My Project
Our class needs materials to explore science. By observing nature and by doing experiments, students will learn about our environment.
This project means a lot to us because it is the way we build compassion for our nature, curiosity about it, and in the end caring.
The animal sets (the butterfly garden, the view master, the animal tracks, and the x-rays) will help my students be involved in the module about life on Earth.
As for the block and the engineer sets, they will be part of a building challenge for several months, to increase their fine motor skills and their scientific reasoning.
In the end, science is a great way to explore what surrounds us, to create bonds between each other, and to develop our language!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
