Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently teach a split class, which means I have 4-year-old students (transitional kindergarten) and 5-year-old students (kindergarten). Together they are 24 of the smartest, artistic and loving kids. They come to school each day eager to discover and learn new things. One of my top priorities is to provide a safe learning environment for each and every one of my students.
My students are in need of Kindle Fires in order to access educational applications.
My school is a Title I school, and most of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.
As children of the 21st century, my students need to be empowered with the technological knowledge and tools to engage their world and have a real opportunity to compete.
My Project
Part of providing our students with the best possible education is preparing them to utilize the technology that exists today so that they will be able to comfortably incorporate it in their lives. For this reason, I am asking for four Kindle Fires.
The Kindle Fires will allow my students to have more opportunities to access our reading and math programs.
In addition, they will also have the opportunity to access multiple applications and websites to engage in meaningful coding challenges that develop computational thinking.
