This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten - Autism Class is an amalgam of verbal and nonverbal,and severe and high functioning. Despite the disability, my students never fail to show enthusiasm in coming to school. Everyday, each moment they get off the bus and greet me good morning with a big smile on their face, I know it will be another positive experience with them.
In a class that requires differentiated instruction, it is most beneficial to have students learn at their own pace and level.
That is why; this project aims to support children by giving them ten Amazon Kindle Fire tablets with cases.
My Project
As of the moment, we only have one laptop that my class shares. Our class utilizes a curriculum that is big on technology. Books, worksheets, activities and educational games can all be accessed in our interactive library. IEP and academic goals will be a little harder to achieve with a limited access to technology.
Through this project, frustration of my non-verbal kids will be assuaged and those who are high functioning will be given more opportunities to learn as they will have access to myriad of resources that we have available online.
Those who are severely handicapped will not only learn how to communicate, but participate and interact as well in group activities.
We plan to utilize the Amazon Fire Tablets both for academic use and communication.
