Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the privilege of working at such a diverse school. My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds. We are a school located in the South Bronx with many challenges. Despite the community, our students are eager to explore and learn.

Our school is also considered a transitional school due to all the surrounding shelters.

I love working with this community. My students are faced with lots of challenges but somehow they make it to school each day with a huge smile. Seeing them being so resilient makes me want to work harder to provide them with all I can. My students are resilient, curious, and creative. They love to read, create art, and use their imagination daily. Our classroom is a big ball of fun, where they come to create, explore, and invent through new experiences.

As their teacher, it is my job to support them in all walks of life. When I enter the classroom I become their friend, nurse counselor, mom, and so many other things depending on their arrival. I take pride in providing myself to my little ones and their families.

My Project

I hope when you read this that you and your family are doing well. I am asking for your help to give my babies a Christmas they deserve. This year has been a difficult one due to the pandemic. My little ones are so energetic and vibrant and I would love more than anything to bring them joy and happiness. The toys that I am requesting are educational as well. These will bring them happiness all the while learning. This new school year has been a new adventure for my angels giving them a new type of structure has been hard for them so a little joy will go a long way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
