My Project

I teach an amazing group of kindergarten through second-grade students with special needs who light up when learning is hands-on and fun. They are curious, energetic, and eager to learn—especially when they get to move, build, sort, and explore! Each of my students learns differently, and they thrive when given opportunities to engage in activities that support their fine motor skills, foundational reading, and math development through sensory play.

The materials in this project were chosen with my students’ unique needs in mind.

The magnetic tiles, alphabet games, and counting manipulatives will support their understanding of letters, sounds, and numbers in a way that is engaging and developmentally appropriate. Fine motor activities like the alphabet sorting boxes and animal number matching toys help build the hand strength and coordination my students need for writing. The math tools, including snap cubes, frog balance scales, and cash register sets, will make abstract concepts more concrete and easier to grasp.

Classroom essentials like scissors, glue sticks, laminating sheets, and reusable envelopes will help keep our learning materials organized, durable, and accessible for repeated use. The headphones will support technology-based intervention programs, and the timer will keep us on track during transitions and independent work.

My goal is to create a rich, multi-sensory learning environment where every student feels successful. These tools will allow me to differentiate instruction, provide targeted support, and bring joy to everyday learning. My students are incredibly resilient and capable—and with your help, they’ll have the resources they need to grow and shine!
