Tiny Humans, Big Emotions

My Project

My name is Mrs. Moseley and I teach Pre-K. My students are fun, outgoing, curious, energetic and ready to explore the world around them. As my students are learning and growing I notice certain obstacles that prevent their learning such as big emotions, sensory issues, developmental delays, and lack of social interaction due to Covid-19. My goal as a teacher is to teach my students about their big emotions and how to choose coping strategies that are positive and helpful rather than negative and potentially harmful to themselves or others. In doing so, it is my hope that their will be fewer barriers that could potentially prevent them from receiving a wonderful education. Many of the items on my list are items that will go towards making my classroom sensory friendly and provide opportunities for them to have safe spaces to work through their big emotions. In creating this safe space I hope all of my students feel seen, safe, soothed, and loved.
