This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredibly curious, creative, and full of potential. As a Title I school, many of our students face economic challenges, but that doesn’t dampen their enthusiasm for learning and discovery. They come to the STEM Center eager to explore new ideas, experiment with technology, and tackle unique challenges. Despite limited resources, their determination and resilience shine through, making every opportunity to create and innovate a chance to grow and learn.
The materials we’re requesting will help us host an exciting Rube Goldberg challenge, where students will design and build elaborate chain-reaction machines to solve a simple task.
With items like dominoes, ramps, marbles, pulleys, springs, and other creative components, students will have the tools they need to bring their imaginative ideas to life. This hands-on project encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving while sparking creativity and a love for engineering.
My goal is to inspire a love for STEM by combining innovation, collaboration, and fun in this challenge. Through building their machines, students will develop confidence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of physics and engineering principles. This project will also foster a supportive and engaging environment where every student’s efforts are celebrated.
