Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are exceptional children with mild to moderate disabilities. They each desire to achieve and do their best at everything they do. However, the concept of time can be difficult to grasp. They desperately need to be reminded of when to stop or start a new assignment. This becomes detrimental for their success and tranquility. They are able to stay on task and work continuously when they are able to see and listen to the timer. Please help my students achieve higher expectations with this item.
My Project
We are requesting timers to manage their tasks and give them independence and individuality when they complete assignments in class. My special needs students will use these timers to help them stay on task, request a break and manage how long it will be. I can place more than one student on their own special timer and not have to wait for someone's time to be up to begin another student on his or her task. The sound of the timer is a auditory soothing component that most students in my class crave. When they hear the timer go off it is an automatic command to either begin or finish a task. These keeps them calm and sets the tone for daily constant success in the classroom.
