My Students
Keeping time as a musician is the most important skill one can have. As my students develop their individual skills, we want to make sure that good time is always paramount.
We are a four year public high school in the state of Idaho with a music program dating back over 100 years.
Students at this school take great pride in their school and community. Many of the students are not able to afford the extras that make our program shine, so the school needs to provide them. Things like strings for your violin, reeds for your clarinet, a metronome or a tuner to help you play in time and in tune. It is not unreasonable to expect students to provide these things, but if they cannot afford them, it sure is nice to pull one off the shelf and make their lives a little easier.
My Project
I am requesting 15 metronomes for use in band and orchestra classes. This will help greatly in our preparations for performances. We are working on a long term project where each student plays a duet - that is two players only. Using a metronome when practicing is the best way to guarantee that you are keeping good time, which is the most important aspect of any musician's skills. Thank you for helping to improve our students' chances at success!
This project will impact not only the students who get to use the metronomes immediately, but future students.
The metronomes I am requesting are quite sturdy and should last more than 10 years. It is an investment in the future - thank you for your support of music education in Idaho!
