This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Shakuntala Devi said " Without mathematics, there's nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers." This quote has inspired me to provide my students with opportunities to be successful in math. I know that students who don’t have immediate recall of math facts spend much of their time on basic computations instead of learning higher order math skills. This is why I try to provide my students with the foundation they need to achieve their goals.

As an educator, I seek to provide meaningful learning activities to challenge their understanding of the world.

My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and the majority of them qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

My Project

My remote math learners need a replenishment of their supplies to continue to be successful at home. My sixth grade students love to use dry erase boards to solve their math problems and new expo markers and erasers would be a great help.

A pencil sharpener is a must in my math classroom for my in person students.

It will be very helpful to have an electric sharpener for my students to use at the beginning of class to get ready for the day. A sharpened pencil and a sharp mind in the morning will be a wonderful start to the day.
