This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative, fun & imaginative. I strive to maintain the library space as a safe haven, and a place where every student can find a book they love.

Our library needs a refresh, and this includes new books, new and improved signage, charging stations, and access to a color printer.

This project includes many vital pieces needed for refreshing the library and making it even more accessible to students. My students need a color printer so I can make bright and colorful signs to help label different sections of the library. In particular, I am aiming to reorganize our nonfiction section, place many books of interest forward-facing (thus the need for book holders), and clearly identify sections such as sports, fashion, cooking, etc. To meet the technological needs of the students, the charging stations will provide a way to keep students' tablets fully charged and ready for class.

Finally, I have included recently released graphic novels, which are always a favorite for my students. Graphic novels continue to be among students' most popular and well-loved books. Keeping my collection up to date means students are excited to read!
