This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What is happening in the world around us? It is important to expose our young learners to current events.

I have a charming group of kindergarten students who are eager to learn.

I teach at a Title 1 school in California where funds are limited. Half of my students are English Language Learners. My students are kind and respectful. I am confident that they will appreciate and take care of the materials they receive. These children need every opportunity I can provide to help them be successful lifelong learners.

My Project

A subscription to Weekly Reader will provide my students with a fun, exciting, and enriching view of the world around them. It would help develop their knowledge of people, places, and things outside of their daily life. A subscription to Weekly Reader will be a wonderful addition to my classroom curriculum. It will be a wonderful resource for the students to share with their families, and they can keep their collection of Weekly Readers at home. I have added the Science Spin to the bundle because scientific concepts are broad and require materials that the children can put their hands on. The Science Spin will give us ideas to use in the classroom, in addition to activities that students can do at home with their families.

Each issue of Weekly Reader covers current events and is focused on state standards.

Weekly Reader correlates each issue to important, key standards in Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. I am excited to incorporate these materials to enhance my established curriculum.
