My students need a subscription to TIME For Kids for exposure to news, informational text and knowledge from around the world!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hall's classroom raised $168
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students really enjoy reading nonfiction text. They are filled with an eagerness to learn about the world around them. My students are from a low, socioeconomic background with limited resources at home.
This project will increase family reading time, their reading levels, and reading as a hobby.
We are a Title-One school located in Georgia. I realize that most of our students don't have books at home. TIME magazine is an amazing resource that students can read at school and at home that will engage their interest, expose them to articles from around the world and build up their reading skills. It also allows students to read informational text on topics and subjects that are specifically written for them.
My Project
TIME magazine is an wonderful resource for students to read. It exposes them to informational, non - fiction text that is engaging and interesting.
Getting students to read non-fiction text can be challenging as not all text lends itself to be intriguing to 6 year olds!
TIME magazine provides a colorful, exciting resource for students to engage in on a weekly basis. It allows students to keep up to date with world events, read interviews, and gets students to think and discuss different subjects. This project will impact my first graders by allowing each student to have access to weekly reading materials to read at school and at home.
