My Project
The Giver by Lois Lowry offers my students characters, themes, and a plot that fosters meaningful connections and empathy. They will engage with this classic text in fresh, impactful ways. In my classroom, we will aim to synthesize, redefine, and expand traditional literary books to fit the needs and perspectives of today’s students to understand a society that is different from what we live in. This approach will encourage deeper reflection and ensure that the lessons within The Giver resonate with modern audiences, creating both personal and academic growth.
My students will be engaging in a text with contemporary situations and characters.
I would love for each student to own this novel. Not only will they be able to keep it for their library, but they will also be able to annotate their book.
