My Project

Hello, potential donors! I am excited to introduce a project that combines fractions, geometry, time, and measurement into a fun, hands-on experience for my 4th-grade students!

Our classroom is working on developing a strong understanding of fractions, geometry, and telling time.

Through the "Time to Make a Pizza" project, students will create pizzas using paper plates, magnetic math manipulatives, and clocks. They'll practice dividing their pizzas into fractions, exploring geometric shapes, and measuring the area and perimeter of their pizzas. The project also incorporates elapsed time, where students will track the time it takes to make and decorate their pizzas, reinforcing math and time concepts together.

We will use clocks to track the time it takes for each step in the pizza-making process, making it an interactive experience. Students will learn how fractions apply to real-life scenarios (like ordering pizza) while using math to build their pizzas, ensuring they gain a solid grasp of these critical math skills.
