This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second and third grade students are all learning how to read and making great progress. For students with significant learning delays, this is HUGE! We have a heavy focus on sight words and word families to aide in building their vocabulary development.
Your donation will greatly help my students in their reading journey, by giving them an opportunity for further practice with the skills they are learning during our small group learning centers each day.
I am looking for supplemental, hands-on activities to support my student's learning and further their knowledge. They are also learning sentence structures and practicing making their own sentences using the sight words they learn in class and writing them. After writing sentences, we have the students read them to exercise their reading skills.
All of these activities will help the students be able to manipulate letters and words and see different examples and also allow them a way to easily correct their work if needed.
