My Students

I teach a fun, active group of 25-second graders. They love to learn and work together. In second grade, we learn a lot of new skills every day. These students are eager to learn and apply their skills every day!

My students are on a variety of levels in the classroom.

They need engaging ways to practice the skills they are missing. My students that are reading above level need engaging ways to challenge their brains!

They need new and exciting experiences to keep them engaged in our curriculum. I like to provide them with experiences that will immerse them in the learning and teach them about the world we live in.

My Project

This has been another hard year for students. They are still struggling with the pandemic still and dealing with the uncertainties. They have gaps in their learning from the pandemic that we are trying to fill and catch them up.

These items will help students recover from the impact the coronavirus has had on the students and their learning.

Included in the project are math and reading games. Students are struggling with skills and need practice. No one wants to learn and practice a worksheet. They do, however, want to play a game. These games will help us practice skills we are missing from the interruptions in learning last year. I also included games that will help extend the learning of those who are above grade level. Everyone will have a fun and engaging way to practice exactly what they need. This will also allow them to practice important social-emotional skills while they are missing from not being around others for two years.

I have also included some items we need for individual class supplies. They will have book bins to store their books, dry erase markers, pencil bags, and individual erasers. This will help reduce the amount of germs that are spread.

Headphones are very needed in the classroom. We are one to one with technology and the students need headphones to work on engaging websites to help fill in those holes.

Noise canceling headphones will help students focus. Going from being one on one at home to being in a busy classroom is hard for some students. They aren't able to focus with noise and distractions around them. These will help them focus on their assignment during independent work time while other things are going on.

All of these items will help us learn amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
