This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Que es eso?" means "what's that" in Spanish. You would be amazed how many times I hear that coming from my second language learners.

My students have a passion to learn but because of their low income status and limited expose to the world, they don't know much outside their "bubble." I want to change that.

They are a lively group of native Spanish speakers that are learning English as well as other core subjects at a fantastic rate! They attend a Ohio Public School and are in our bilingual classes.

My Project

Using Time for Kids will assist my students in so many ways. One, they will be exposed to cultures around the world and see what is happening in the country that they now call home. Two, it will help with their fluency in English and it will keep their attention. Three, the materials for Social Studies are very outdated in our school district, this will help them to keep up with other students in other school districts.

They need to take the same state test as native English speakers and need to be able to compete in the real world one day for colleges and employment.

They need to know how to relate the their new culture and keep up with current events. They are very dedicated to working hard and doing their best everyday! Time for Kids will be a great addition to their curriculum.
