My Students

Worksheets, textbooks, posters- while these are the norm for learning in many classrooms, these methods of learning do not always serve the needs of all children. Technology gives us the opportunity to provide students with a learning resource that can meet a variety of learning styles.

My students are an energetic group of first graders in Detroit who come to school each day excited to learn.

While our school has limited resources, we work hard to provide a variety of learning experiences for students to make sure we are meeting the needs of many different learning styles. My students love using technology to learn.

My Project

Our classroom promotes an environment of exploration and individualized learning. Students work independently or in small groups to practice and reinforce reading and math skills. Having iPads in the classroom would provide a resource that meets the auditory, kinesthetic, and visual learning needs of my students through the use of numerous educational programs. Classroom iPads would also be used to record lessons so that students could review information as necessary and learn in a way that meets their unique needs.

Your generous donations will provide my students with technology that not only promotes their curiosity for learning but also meets their unique learning styles and needs.
