My Project
My students this year are the most gentle, polite group of kids I have had the pleasure to work with as I enter my 8th year of teaching. These students are not only kind to us, their teachers, but also kind and compassionate to each other.
We are back in the full swing of things where we are finally able to step away from social distancing protocols, and really get together in our meeting areas in a more interactive way for small groups.
We had made a drastic switch to relying on technology for the last couple of years and pulled away from paper materials for our students. Now we are able to reintroduced paper materials to our work.
I realize that my students don't have a sturdy surface to lean on when we are working in small groups. My co-teacher and I are able to each pull 4-6 students at a time, but only have one table as a meeting area so 4-6 students are left with no sturdy surface to write on. Having these lap desks would make a huge difference on our students comfort, at the meeting area as well as a big impact on their handwriting being able to have a flat steady surface to use during our small group work away from their desks.
It will also offer more flexible seating options for our students to find a comfortable spot in our room while doing independent work. Your generosity and support would mean the world to us!
