This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a low income school with high energy kids! I love the students I teach, they are so loving and always eager to learn more! We have students from all over the world that attend our school.
I love my job!
This is my 10th year teaching elementary age students and they are the best pick me up any teacher can have! They have such a thrist to learn more, it truly motivates me to be a better teacher.
My Project
This year I will be teaching 2nd grade reading and social studies. These TIME weekly news magazines will open another demention of reading to my students. This will give them the opportunity to increase their reading fluence and vocabulary, while exploring the world around them.
For adults, it is estimated that eighty-six percent of reading is drawn from factual text to gather information.
TIME for kids will allow me to differentiate instruction for my students. It will also allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and dig deeper into factual articals.
Teachers want our students to understand the value and wonder of reading. By using TIME weekly news magazines, I will allow my students to explore and engage in informational text.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
