I am a pre-K teacher in a public school. My students attend a full day Pre-K class, which means they have nap time. My students rest on mats. As an adult, I would find this quite uncomfortable.
My students are eager, active little sponges that soak up all that they have been taught or shown.
They believe that they are all grown up and do not need to rest. If given a chance, they would keep going and going. As their teacher, I know that they need to rest their bodies and mind so that they can do more the rest of the day. We have all experienced times when we as adults need to rest. It is now my job to help provide a place for my students to rest. The cots that I am requesting will help fill that need.
My Project
Rest time is the opportunity for my students to take a break and calm their bodies down after being in school all morning. Many of my students are quite active throughout the day and wind up sleeping during rest time. I am requesting cot sheets that will keep germs away from them while they are resting or sleeping. It will be like sleeping on a smaller bed in school, as well as providing a cleaner surface for them to sleep on.
When they are rested, my students will be able to enjoy a good book or whatever we have planned for the afternoon.
Your help will make rest time and reading time so much more enjoyable. My students will have a soft clean cot to sleep on and be well rested for more activities and learning in the afternoon.
