My Students

Our Coastal Georgia school is a Title I high-poverty school, with over 70% of our students receiving free or reduced price lunch.

Our classroom is filled with twenty-three brilliant third graders who love learning.

We always have fun and exciting things going on in our classroom. We strive to create a positive learning environment. It's important to keep students engaged and intrigued. Learning happens when students are engaged. The lessons in our classroom are designed to meet the needs and interests of all learners.

My Project

We are seeking funding for TIME for Kids magazines for our third-grade students. These magazines will expose our students to many current events and engaging articles. The magazines feature stories that are aligned with grade-appropriate science and social studies topics. The subscription also comes with a digital component that both teachers and students can access.

Students should be exposed to various forms of print and digital resources in the classroom and a class set of subscriptions to TIME for Kids is just what they need.

The digital component features Spanish translation, read-aloud functionality, and embedded vocabulary to support all learners. These social studies and science articles from the magazines will be used in conjunction with our Reading/ ELA block for cross-curricular lessons.
