My Students

I teach fourth grade in a Title I school. My leaders are full of life and always ready to explore and learn. I am a teacher in a low income/high poverty area. Many of my students come from a single parent household and receive free lunch. Because of these challenges these students do not always have the necessary items they need to succeed in school. As a teacher, I can not control these students' home lives, but I do have a say in what students have at school.

My Project

It's that time of year again, to renew our subscription to TIME for Kids! My kids love getting these magazines every week! They are filled with colorful pictures and captivating stories that really grab the attention of my students!

TIME for Kids not only introduces students to current events, it also allows us to practice our reading strategies!

Nonfiction text can be complicated to understand but TIME for Kids gives the information to students in a way that they can enjoy it, while also getting the information they need. Not only will we have access to the magazines but we will also have access to the online resources which will again help us extend our learning. Please consider donating to this project. Thanks!
