My Students
Help us access nonfiction text that is meaningful and engaging!
I have a wonderful class of 2nd graders in Oregon!
They are sweet, caring and full of life! They love learning and truly enjoy taking in new information. I teach in a high-poverty area so many of my students have access to reading only when they are at school.
My Project
At the beginning of the school year, my students took a reading interest survey and most students said they prefer nonfiction text. They love reading real text and taking in new information.
Having these magazines will allow my students to not only read real world, pertinent information but they will be able to learn new information. I love the versatility of these magazines. I can use them for small, teacher-led reading groups as well as for independent activities during our reading block.
Thank you so much in advance for helping to fund this very important project for our classroom.
"Time for Kids" will not only provide engaging and relevant nonfiction text for my students to access, but it will also help to increase their reading skills.
