This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Before you walk into my school, you may see on paper that we are a Title I school with a majority of students receiving free or reduced price lunch.
We've struggled through Hurricane Harvey and Covid-19 and have limited resources for our students.
However, what you will see in person is a dynamic group of young, driven leaders, who through "The Leader in Me" process are making their mark in our world. We are a Lighthouse Leader in Me/Magnet Fine Arts school, which has helped transform all of our students into global thinkers who believe they have a chance in life.
My Project
Over the last year, my students have lived through MANY major and current events. As an adult, it can be difficult to understand what's going on in the world.
Time for Kids can help explain to students in a way they can understand.
It will be immensely helpful moving forward into next year. When students read about current events, they begin to shift their paradigms and understand other people and cultures. This tool will help them become world leaders and realize they can begin to change the world one act or person at a time! We need TIME For Kids.
