This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students in Mesa, Arizona are eager learners. They have a great sense of community and are always helping each other and showing they care in kindergarten ways. This spectacular group of kids attend school in the lowest socioeconomic level school, however, their drive and love of school propels them to achieve at high levels and surpass all obstacles! My students love to read and are developing a great foundational level of their alphabet letters and sounds and will be reading by the end of this school year!

My Project

These magazines will be a colorful and engaging way for students to engage in real world learning about our planet, people, animals, and society! Helping to fund this project will support students' critical thinking and literacy skills. Each month, students will receive a magazine and participate in reading and engaging in authentic critical discussions about the lesson topics that are geared for kindergarten students. The students will be able to take home their magazines and share their learning with their families. These magazines are out of reach for our Title I low-income school.
