Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The grade two team is lucky enough to have 78 wonderful students! After two hectic school years, our students are excited to be back in the classroom interacting with friends and doing hands-on activities.
Our students have varying levels of abilities and our goal is to ensure each child makes individual progress!
My Project
Social Studies if often overlooked in the lower grade levels. However, we want to ensure our students are well rounded second graders who understand current events and how to read informational texts. Magazines are no longer a typical household item and therefore our students are even more excited when the bright magazines are handed out every Friday. Time for Kids gives our inner city students the opportunity to explore life outside of their immediate community and creates whole class and small group discussion while practicing close reading skills.
Help us help our students understand the world around them with these interactive and engaging informational magazines!
