This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hands on science is what it is about these days, and costs for labs in biology are beyond the school's materials budgets by far.
My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds at a school that qualifies 70%+ for free or reduces lunches.
We are an urban school in California that serves primarily minority students.
They are great kids who need exposure to more enrichment and content beyond the textbook.
My Project
My students need Perfect Solution Jumbo Frog specimens for our frog dissection. The frog dissection is one of the main things that students remember from middle school. It is often an activity that gets students interested in pursuing scientific careers in biology, health care, and beyond. Giving them a chance to work with these frogs to understand body systems, as well as adaptations and evolution is the perfect way to jump start their interest in science.
These students will never forget this dissection.
They will be grossed out, fascinated, amazed, and curious. Your donation will go a long way to giving these students a lab that they will talk about forever.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
