My Students
I have a wonderful class of second graders in Oregon! They are sweet, caring, and full of life! They love learning and truly enjoy taking in new information. I teach in a high-poverty area, where 75% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
We are a community in our classroom, working together and supporting each other every day.
My students come from a variety of different economic and cultural backgrounds. My students speak many different languages, have various interests, and have diverse learning styles.
My Project
This year I am moving to a new classroom. The rug from my previous classroom (besides being over 10 years old) had to be left for the teacher moving into that room. I would love to purchase a new rug for my students.
We use our classroom rug on a daily basis.
We use it for meetings to help build our classroom community, for whole group instruction, for partner or small group activities, or just as a comfortable place to lay down and read.
I love this rug because it is divided into squares. A rug like this will help my 2nd graders keep their bodies in their own space without disrupting the learning of other students. I would love your help in getting this rug for my classroom!
