My students need a variety of measuring time learning activities and games in order to help them improve their skills in telling and writing time.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Here comes math class again, worksheet after worksheet! Blahhh!!! Will you help my first graders learn to tell time with their hands? Will you help them master this life skill?
We are a eager learning group from the inner city.
My babies lack so many basic needs; including, food, shelter, and love. My little first graders are awesome kids! They live in the inner city, and despite that they come from extreme poverty, they still love being in our classroom and learning. My students barely have enough to eat at home, and yet they find their little smiles everyday and come eager to learn.
I strive to provide them with as many learning opportunities as possible. Every year I try to provide my students with all the tools they need to be successful. Because of this, we are in need of some hands-on tools to help us learn how to measure time.
My Project
Currently, we do not have math books, or workbooks. My students are such hands-on learners, that working on worksheets copied all day is not instructional and does not allow my students to really explore time, work and build with it. My students have learned so much using other donated materials in math. I want to bring this learning into our telling time unit. With our telling time learning centers, we can use them after our lesson allowing students time to dig in with their hands and learn how to measure time. My students will use the games to heighten their attention, and want to continue working on math. This will provide them opportunity to work in groups and pairs, allowing them to teach and learn from each other. Because I have 90% English language Learners, my students at times can not communicate nor can they understand a worksheet. Making the struggles for learning and being successful much harder. The games will allow them to work with a partner and on teaching each other.
This is so important to my little babies.
With your help, my little first graders will gain a love for math, as well as master a skill as important as telling time. They will be able to manipulate with their hands the time instead of working with some worksheet the entire class time. Bring learning to the hands of my little ones.
