Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My little S.T.E.A.M. enthusiasts love science and engineering. They are never as engaged as when they are given the opportunity to learn by exploring. Whether it is the Cardboard Challenge, chemical reactions, or frog dissection my students are ready for action!
My students' challenges are my challenges and although they may have learning disabilities, language challenges, and attention deficits they know they are capable of overcoming.
My mission is to find the " just right" activity that will have the maximum payoff. Their mission is to be open to explore and learn. Together we make the mission of learning possible.
My Project
Research shows that student motivation is a key factor in reading success. Unfortunately, the majority of my students are struggling readers and often not very motivated to read. Reading novels or textbooks is a daunting task that they rather avoid. It is for this reason that we need the subscription for TIME for Kids magazine.
Short interesting articles will provide opportunities to grow as readers and become effective communicators.
TIME for Kids Magazine will provide engaging informational articles on topics that spark conversation and inspire writing. With this subscription, students will learn news literacy, become informed on global issues, make connections to S.T.E.A.M. concepts and develop into experienced readers.
