My Students
Do you remember what it was like to sit in music class surrounded by the instruments? Do you remember how exciting it was to know that your turn was coming up next? My students have that feeling until they try to play our bongos.
My kids love to drum and for some reason they all want to play the bongos....until they hear what they sound like!
The cheap construction does not stand up to a proper hit. Instead of a resonant bong, the kids produce a dead thud. The kids need an instrument that will match their enthusiasm for drumming.
My Project
I am asking for a proper set of bongos for the classroom. The kids' love for drumming will be met with an instrument that responds to their touch and makes them sound great.
We have seen that the students at Loveland Elementary School love to perform, create, and compose. The bongos have a distinct sound that will create another dimension to their compositions.
With a new set of bongos, the kids' imaginations and creativity can soar!
I love to see them close their eyes and improvise and this new instrument will serve as another vehicle with which they may express themselves.
