My Students

My students are some amazing kids! They have keen minds. They love to learn, make connections to the world around them, and participate in engaging activities.

My 30 students are learning good habits to be successful like, "Win Win" and "Begin with the End in Mind".

They each have a class responsibility and greet me every morning with a handshake, as they develop their leadership skills.

Students have been focusing on how "Kindness Makes Ripples".

At the beginning of the year each student thought of something kind they had done for someone. That "kindness" was dropped into a bucket of water, as a small rock. The students watched what their "good deed" would do. I feel like this activity made a big impact on growing our class community.

Class time is very precious, so only the most meaningful lessons and hands on activities are chosen. Lessons are mixed with "brain break" music and songs that teach content. The students really love this way of learning and pacing. They beg to sing.

My students have a passionate teacher and are very loved!!

My Project

My project is to obtain tools to help organize student work, obtain power content posters with low space impact, and develop a bright and engaging classroom. Students will keep unfinished work in a pocket storage chart. This will help them stay organized and keep the inside of their desks clean! Absent students will easily find their missed work and assignments.

Proper storage will support time management and personal accountability.

There is limited wall space for instructional materials. Effective and concise visual aids are needed and will support Core learning standards. I'm always looking for posters that "pack a punch" in their content and are an easy reference for students.

A cozy new rug will brighten up our tight classroom and encourage relaxed reading. This is one area where an aesthetic difference can be made in the classroom environment. Students should have a comfortable place to read.
