Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with amazing and hard-working 6-7 year olds. My students come to school every day ready to learn and full of passion. These students come from low socio-economic families.
The only chance they get to use updated technology is in the classroom.
With these unprecedented times, we have really learned to rely on technology to be able to teach virtually and in the classroom.
My Project
We use iPads in the classroom and at home. When students fall ill, they use their devices to either Zoom or complete online assignments.
Having this extra device will ensure every child has the opportunity to switch an outdated iPad for a newer one.
These devices are used to support classroom learning in the classroom as well as at home. We use academic programs such as IXL Learning, Amplify, ST Math, and See Saw as well as some coding apps.
iPads not only help my students review previous learning, but they also give them practice skills while socially distancing.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
